How the patrol method works here
New Scouts usually join a patrol within their first few weeks. On a campout your patrol plans the menu, buys the food, cooks it, and cleans up after itself — adults do not do this for you. Patrol leaders run their own patrol meetings inside the Tuesday night meeting.
Every patrol competes for the National Honor Patrol award. It takes a real year's worth of camping, service and meetings; it is not handed out.
